Who they are
Norwex is a global direct sales company selling sustainable cleaning and personal-care products through a field of independent consultants across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Its commerce platform had grown over more than a decade, and the business had outgrown it.
The challenge
Norwex’s existing commerce platform had evolved over more than a decade and was beginning to limit the business’s ability to scale and adapt. The tightly coupled architecture made it difficult to introduce new features quickly, and deployments often required extended timelines and manual coordination.
As consultant demand grew and digital engagement increased, the platform began to experience performance bottlenecks during high-traffic periods. System outages and delays affected transaction reliability, leading to disruptions in ordering and fulfillment workflows.
The platform’s structure also made integration with modern tools and third-party systems complex, restricting the company’s ability to adopt newer technologies and real-time reporting capabilities. To support growth and provide a seamless experience to consultants and customers alike, Norwex required a stable, scalable, and flexible commerce foundation, one that could enable continuous delivery, improve performance, and simplify integration across its digital ecosystem.
What we did
AHM Technology led a comprehensive transformation, serving as both technology architect and execution partner. We introduced a modern engineering model built on continuous development - with daily production deployments, automated CI/CD pipelines, and robust testing frameworks. This approach enabled rapid, reliable feature delivery while maintaining platform stability. Through phased execution, we ensured business continuity and set the foundation for a scalable, AI-powered commerce ecosystem.
Platform Stabilization & Legacy Support
Before replacing the legacy platform, AHM Technology ensured business continuity by stabilizing core services, reducing incidents, and keeping the platform functional during the transition.
Business continuity while the replacement took shape
Architecture & Microservices Platform Delivery
AHM Technology designed and deployed a headless, microservices-based e-commerce platform with full alignment to Norwex’s direct sales model.
Key capabilities:
- Flexible commerce architecture for rapid iteration
- Embedded direct sales logic: incentives, rank tracking, team dashboards
- Real-time integrations with ERP, CRM, and fulfillment systems
A modular platform with direct sales logic embedded, not bolted on
Consultant Enablement via Native Mobile App
We delivered a powerful mobile app giving consultants everything they need at their fingertips:
- CRM access, order management, customer communication
- Real-time dashboards, rank progress
- Mobile-first experience to drive productivity anywhere, anytime
The back office in every consultant’s pocket
Data Migration & Field Onboarding
AHM Technology executed a high-stakes, complex migration from the legacy system, including:
- 30M+ customer and consultant records
- Complete order and commission histories
- Consultant onboarding at scale with in-app guides and training
30M+ records moved, histories intact, field onboarded
The entire business — every consultant, every customer, every order and commission history — moved onto the new platform. And AHM Technology stayed on to run it.
AI-powered innovation
Post-launch, AHM Technology layered intelligence into the platform — the early core of what would later become EMMA Nexus:
Smart Product Recommendations
AI models analyzed behavior to deliver personalized product suggestions, increasing conversion rates and boosting average order value.
Actionable Intelligence for Consultants
The platform brought customers, orders and downline data together and used it to recommend what a consultant should do next — the follow-up worth making, the customer going quiet, the team member who needed attention.
This was not yet an assistant you could ask questions of; the conversational layer came later, in EMMA. What it proved was the foundation: intelligence over the consultant's own business, surfaced where they work.
- Recommendations driven by customer, order and downline activity
- 1-to-1 messaging with customers, built into the app
- The full CRM and back office integrated into the mobile experience
Results & impact
Norwex’s platform transformation unlocked lasting operational stability and development agility. With a modern, modular architecture in place, the business gained the confidence to scale, innovate, and empower its field with continuous improvements.
